Oliver Wyman, a global leader in management consulting and a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE:MMC) announced that Neema Uthappa has been named Chief Information Officer (CIO). Based in the firm’s Boston office, she will oversee technology across all businesses of Oliver Wyman Group, including Oliver Wyman, Lippincott and NERA.

“Neema brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of driving innovation and excellence in technology. As we continue to grow, I’m confident her leadership will be instrumental in advancing our digital transformation and enhancing our tech capabilities both in-house and for our clients,” said Nick Studer, CEO of Oliver Wyman.

With 23 years of experience in strategic digital transformation, Neema is an expert in artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and robotic process automation. Before joining Oliver Wyman, Neema served as the Head of Engineering for Cloud Data Analytics & AI at McKinsey & Company and held key roles at American Express and McKesson Corporation.

Early in her career, Neema spent eight years in the Indian Navy and is one of the first executive women officers in the Works Branch. She served at the Indian Navy’s Command Head Quarters located in Vizag, Cochin and Mumbai.

“My goal is to empower Oliver Wyman colleagues to become their best selves, enabling us to set high standards while providing our clients with innovative and forward-looking solutions,” Uthappa said.

Neema will be part of the Marsh McLennan Technology Leadership Team, reporting to Paul Beswick, Senior Vice President and the Global Chief Information Officer of Marsh McLennan.
